Back in 2015, I realized that a portable camera you actually use is worth way more than a heavy DSLR gathering dust. Moving from the GH3 and GH4 to the GH7 has been a massive improvement—the generational leaps are exponential. This is arguably the most capable professional video tool in a compact, 'carry-all-day' form factor. Still photos are excellent, and the low-light performance is a huge upgrade over the GH4. I love the backward compatibility; I'm still using lenses from 2016 and can even swap batteries with my older gear. While it’s arguably overkill for beginners, the 'Auto' mode makes it accessible for anyone to capture family moments. Just a heads-up: shooting at max resolution eats through storage and batteries quickly, and the 32-bit floating audio requires an additional module. It's a professional powerhouse that grows with you.

I'm still getting to grips with this camera, and it definitely feels like it has more potential than my current skills can fully utilize. That said, the physical function buttons are a great touch and very helpful for navigation.
